This night remains

A sea to live I won't find
in a fish's soul body of a cat
every night I go out to drown myself
sometimes stars, sometimes the edge of the abyss
something I chase, like the castaway
my years, my sheets, cigars to put out

This night remains
for centuries frozen
during which two souls never found a shelter
and they came into the world as strangers and condemned
to live an earthly love

I was also lost one night
sea was Kazantzidis's voice
the stars were falling into the mud
black guy the weather and black snake
the heart waived at me, smell
how the oil burns and live the journey

This night remains
for centuries frozen
during which two souls never found a shelter
and they came into the world as strangers and condemned
to live an earthly love
